Join us at the annual Unsilent Night event for a colorful auditory celebration of the holiday season! Bike or walk on guided routes through the heart of San Marcos landmarks and natural areas, while participating in the creation of a luminous winter-time “soundscape”.
This event, hosted in cities across the world, is a public sound art event that features an original composition by Phil Kline. To participate, download the pre-recorded soundtracks, which can be found on the Unsilent night website or app, and register using this Online Form.
Unsilent Night starts on Dec 5th, 2024 at 6:30pm at the Hays County Historic Courthouse and ends at Industry restaurant, where the celebration will continue with food and drink. Festive garb such as holiday sweaters, funky hats, and even battery powered string lights (to wear or decorate your bike!) are encouraged. Portable speakers are recommended, but not required.
Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to connect with the beauty of San Marcos, meet fellow community members, and celebrate human-powered transportation – all in the holiday spirit!
Unsilent Night is co-sponsored by Texas State Honors College, Texas State Graduate College, Texas State Student Urban Planning Organization, Sustainable San Marcos, and MOVE SM.
